The WomenÔÇÖs Mental Health Clinic is a service to assess and treat mental health conditions in pregnancy and up to one year postpartum. We see approximately 600 patients a year who struggle with moderate to severe mental health conditions. We have a multidisciplinary team and are located at South Tower at the Foothills Medical Centre. ┬áWe are very involved in providing continuing medical education, teaching of medical students and residency training, from classroom to bedside. We work closely with many partners across the Calgary Zone, including Early Childhood and Perinatal Mental Health Program (ECAP). ┬áEarly Childhood and Perinatal Mental Health Program has a perinatal therapy service for pregnant and postpartum women with moderate mental health problems.

The WomenÔÇÖs Mental Health Clinic is seeking a psychiatrist to work 3 or 4 half days a week within this program and one half day a week as a consultant to Early Childhood and Perinatal Mental Health Program (only to perinatal clients).┬á

A successful candidate for the position should have:
ÔÇó Recent experience (residency included) of working with perinatal clients.
ÔÇó Strong foundational knowledge in the safety of psychiatric medications in pregnancy and lactation.
ÔÇó Successful completion of MCC and Royal College specialty exams (or near completion of these).
ÔÇó Exceptional experience working within a multidisciplinary team.┬á
ÔÇó Positive reviews in teaching medical students and residents, both didactic and bedside settings.
ÔÇó Success interpersonally with patients, families and colleagues.
ÔÇó A passion for treating pregnant and postpartum women with mental health conditions.
ÔÇó A family centered, trauma informed and evidence-based approach to care
