Covenant Health in partnership with Alberta Health Services and the Department of WomenÔÇÖs Health, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta, invites applications for a FULL TIME OBGYN to be based primarily at the Misericordia Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.

The successful applicants will be expected to apply for a Clinical Faculty Appointment in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, University of Alberta, which will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry. This role includes working with and teaching learners.

The successful candidate will have superior interpersonal and communication skills and be a proven team player.  The ability to work congenially within a group setting is an absolute prerequisite.  Participation in the call group is expected, which currently provides a model of care allowing for 12 hour or 24 hour call at a busy community hospital, performing 2500 deliveries annually.  We boast a Level 2 NICU (gestational age >30 wks), dedicated obstetrical anaesthesia coverage, a second call backup, and our own L&D OR.  Our robust gynecology programs excel in minimally invasive surgery, colposcopy, Pelvic pain clinic, ACESSA and an outpatient hysteroscopy suite.  Daily routine includes running prenatal and gynecology clinics, regular scheduled gynecology OR time, and participation in the call schedule. 

Required:

┬À┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á MD or equivalent.

┬À┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

┬À┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

┬À┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á Expertise and commitment to quality care and patient safety.

┬À┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) in the healthcare environment.

┬À┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á┬á Understanding of Just Culture and its role in healthcare.

Preferred:
