Covenant Health, in partnership with Alberta Health Services, invites applications for General Internists to join a passionate and collegial medical team at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital.

In collaboration with their Internal Medicine colleagues, the successful candidates will deliver high quality, detail-oriented inpatient and outpatient care to patients served by the Grey Nuns Hospital (GNH). For inpatient care, the opportunity to participate equally in the Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU) will be offered, including a commensurate number of overnight call, holidays, etc., proportionate to the number of weeks of CTU service. An outpatient practice, either through an AHS facility and/or private clinic is strongly encouraged. The outpatient department (OPD) clinic space is provided to all Internal Medicine members for post-discharge follow up of patients as needed. Participation in the Pre-Admission Clinic (pre-op) at the Grey Nuns is optional but encouraged.

The GNCH Internal Medicine group is heavily involved in teaching medical students, residents and fellows, and has been recognized as a site for excellence in training by trainees and the University of Alberta alike. We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated teachers to further this. The group you will join at the GNCH places a high value on comprehensive, detail-oriented, patient-centered care. We are a conscientious and engaged group, supportive of our colleagues, and have a collective desire to intentionally improve the quality of our work. We are seeking individuals who share our vision for the department and the care we provide.

Candidates must hold an MD or equivalent with completed training in General Internal Medicine and must be eligible for licensure within the Province of Alberta. The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons FRCPC (General Internal Medicine) is preferred. Physicians with Internal Medicine certification will also be considered. The successful candidates will be required to participate in the teaching program and will therefore be required to apply for Clinical Faculty appointment through the University of AlbertaÔÇÖs Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.
