The Department of Surgery, section of Specialized Surgery is seeking a┬áfull-time Otolaryngologist┬áat the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. ┬áInterest with expertise and fellowship training in Rhinology and / or Otology is not required but would be an asset.

As the successful candidate you will:

Establish and maintain a full-time Otolaryngology┬ápractice; a full-time practice is defined as providing commensurate shifts in keeping with other equivalent practice FTEs;┬á
Provide inpatient consultations at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital to the Zone Clinical Department of Surgery;
Provide community consultations within Medicine Hat;
On call responsibilities as required (zonal wide call opportunities exist)
Three (3) operating room days in four weeks; surgeons receive equal access to additional blocks based on utilization and need;
Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the services;
Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies;
Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues as a member of the Zone Clinical Department of Surgery;
Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Surgery.

Qualifications:

Required

Be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Must have or be eligible for a full independent medical license from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

The successful candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing practice or by opening their own practice. This is the candidate's independent business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process.
