The successful applicants will have certification in Anesthesiology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.   Additional training in regional, acute pain, and obstetrical will be considered an asset but are not essential.

  The Department of Anesthesia at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital has a busy operative program which includes the Northern Alberta Vascular Centre (NAVC). The NAVC operates out of two hybrid theatres which are capable of both open and/or endovascular repairs. As well, we provide Anesthetic services for General Surgery, ENT, Plastics, Orthopedics, Gynecology and Ear Nose and Throat. We provide service to our Obstetrics Program which averages 7000 deliveries per year. The GNH is involved in numerous quality improvement projects within the AHS zone. We also are actively involved in medical education at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. These opportunities include daily teaching in the OR and/or formal teaching at resident academic half days including simulation.
