Alberta Health Services, Department of Addictions & Mental Health in partnership with the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Psychiatry, is inviting applications from psychiatrists with expertise in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry preferably with subspecialty certification.

Our multi-disciplinary teams consisting of psychiatry, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, social work, education and speech and language pathology provide education and assistance for more than 1.4 million people in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region.

This child and adolescent psychiatrist will have an interest and skills in assessment, treatment, and program development to address the needs of our population of children and youth with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including intellectual disabilities and learning disorders. This psychiatrist would work with therapists, developmental pediatricians, nurses, psychologists, social workers and other allied health professionals on our teams at the Learning and Development (L & D) Clinic, COAST Kids, School-Age Services and Glenrose Hospital Specialty Clinics.

An interest in education of residents and students is highly desirable as the successful candidate is expected to apply for an Academic Appointment in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Alberta.

Candidates must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry and preferably have subspecialty certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. S/he must also be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
