Alberta Health Services, Department of Addiction & Mental Health in partnership with the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Psychiatry, is inviting applications from psychiatrists with expertise in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Our multi-disciplinary teams consisting of psychiatry, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, social work, education, and speech language pathology provide assistance for more than 1.4 million people in Edmonton Metropolitan Region.

This Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist position provides tertiary level psychiatric consultations to children and youth who are triaged into the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Neuropsychiatry and Specialty Clinics (currently Affective Disorders, ADND & Complex Neuropsychiatric and PANDAS/PANS/Autoimmune Encephalitis Clinics). The Tertiary Neuropsychiatry and Specialty Clinics at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital offer tertiary level, psychiatric services to children and adolescents with significant mental health problems not able to be managed by secondary level mental health supports.

An interest in the education of residents and students is highly desirable as the successful candidate is expected to apply for a Clinical Faculty Appointment in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Alberta.

Candidates must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry and preferably have subspecialty certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. S/he must also be licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
