The role  
Reporting to the Manager Data Linkage, Statistical Analysis and Linkage Unit, you will lead and design, develop, and document software applications and their components to enhance data linkage technical infrastructure and operations. You will also provide strategic guidance on ICT infrastructure, software development, and technical operations within the unit's application portfolio. The lead ensures team compliance with software development and security standards, collaborates on project planning and scheduling, and takes technical responsibility for iterations of the software development lifecycle. 

Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Queensland Health teams and technology vendors, is crucial for integrating changes, resolving production issues, and advancing the unit's work program. Additionally, the role involves administering supporting applications, managing cloud hosting environments, and upholding information security policies to safeguard the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of data.

The successful person
To excel in this position, it is crucial to highlight advanced skills and extensive experience, with a minimum of five years in an Oracle developer role, encompassing the design, development, and administration of applications and databases using the Oracle technology stack (SFIA: DESN Level 4, PROG Level 5, DBDS Level 4). Demonstrated capabilities include taking technical responsibility, resource management for planning, estimating, and executing development work in alignment with established standards (SFIA: PEMT Level 4, DLMG Level 5), as well as expertise in establishing processes and crafting software to ensure the quality, security, integrity, and availability of reporting data sets (SFIA: DATM Level 5).

Furthermore, it is essential to exhibit proven expertise in identifying and promoting new and emerging software technologies, products, methods, and techniques, with a keen ability to assess their relevance and potential value (SFIA: EMRG Level 5, METL Level 5). The role also requires demonstrated proficiency in supporting application administration, release deployment, and providing direct technical support to users and operational groups (SFIA: ASUP Level 5, RELM Level 5). Highly desirable is demonstrated expertise in operations support involving Oracle database, Unix Solaris, and Cloud provisioning (SFIA: DBAD Level 5).

Consideration of essential requirements should be coupled with a focus on key technologies for this role, including Oracle APEX, Oracle PL/SQL (DML and DDL), Oracle database, Data model creation, and Linux/Unix shell scripting.
