What's on offer?
Remuneration package of up to $86,645 p.a., comprising base salary range of $71,020 - $75,941 p.a. (HW4), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).

About the role

  • Perform a range of tasks of a complex nature, and provide antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal support and education to women accessing maternity services at Townsville University Hospital.
  • Participate in the care of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients within the Antenatal Clinics, Maternity unit, Birthing Suite, and Home Visiting service as per scope of practice.
  • Advocate for the patient and family with health clinicians and support networks and other key services that are engaged with the patient.

Role requirements

  • Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
  • Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle (manual and automatic) and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
