Job Description

Education

  1. Must have a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized medical school.
  2. Must have a successful completion of a structured accredited General Anesthesia Residency Training Program acceptable to the NGHA.
  3. Must have a successful completion of an accredited sub-specialty Cardiac Anesthesia Fellowship Program acceptable to the NGHA.
  4. Must have certification in a primary/specialty Board in Cardiac Anesthesia by the Saudi Council of Health Specialties acceptable to the NGHA.
  5. Must have a superior or above average performance in patient care, teaching and research activities.


Work Experience :

Ideally minimum of two (2) years' experience of specialty abroad in a program acceptable to the NGHA

 

Main Duties And Responsibilities

1. Participate and perform first or second on-call physician for monthly roster (Cardiac Anesthesia).

2. Provide patient care in Cardiac Anesthesia to both inpatients arid outpatients.

3. Participate in the educational programs/activities and research works/study.

4. Participate in the CPR training, intubation and mechanical ventilation training.

5. Participate in the management of acutely-ill patients presenting with acute cardiac anesthesia problems.

6. Perform duties on rotation to different cardiac anesthesia areas/services.

7. Must be flexible to do coverage as needed/called by member of the Cardiac Anesthesia team.

8. Perform screening for new and follow-up cardiac anesthesia patients.

9. Participate in the supervision of Assistant Consultants, Staff Physicians, Residents rotating in cardiac anesthesia services as well as providing lectures.

10. Initiate plan management action as required to all critically-ill patients during on-call duties.

11. Participate in the Quality Improvement management activity.

12. Participate in the laboratory aspects of cardiac anesthesia and others that might develop including intensive care.

13. Must adhere to departmental and hospital procedures, policies, and protocols.

14. Must be accountable to the Head Section and Chairman to carry out the above task on a "higher professional level"

15. Perform cardiac anesthesia with consultation.
