Job Summary and QualificationsThe role of the Director of the Emergency Services Department assures service, growth, development, personnel management, and resource allocation and management controls in order to ensure consistent high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department.What you will do in this role: You will accurately identify real/potential problems affecting the service and implement solutions with follow-through and communicationYou will actively participate in service, departmental, and hospital-wide committees as assigned, providing ongoing communication to those one representsYou will advance the patient experience agenda in the Emergency DepartmentYou will coach immediate subordinates by providing feedback; and constructive critique of work; facilitating individual development plans; and documenting their job performanceYou will adhere to all Human Resource policies.You will effectively communicate departmental, organizational, and industry information to staffYou will facilitate evidence-based employee engagement practicesYou will effectively build strong relationships and networks to deliver upon organizational and department goalsYou will participate in employee and patient rounding and identify and mentor potential future leadersYou will enforce standards of emergency department care and develop processes to measure and ensure consistent complianceYou will develop, implement, and evaluate an ongoing emergency services program that assures quality patient care consistent with the Hospital's missionYou will monitor compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies for patient services, and environmental and personnel safetyYou will oversee a PI program that consistently monitors and evaluates critical aspects of careYou will be responsible for the department's operational excellence; and ensure the department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standardsYou will follow the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Blood borne and Airborne PathogensYou will support the recruitment process to secure staffing talentYou will perform other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation: BSN requiredMaster's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferredLicense/ Certifications: Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation requiredAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) requiredPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) requiredBasic Life Support (BLS) requiredExperience: 3+ years of experience in emergency services required3+ years of experience in a leadership role preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experienceMust have leadership (manager or director experience)Overview:The 357-bed facility, full-service hospital. Level II Trauma, Main ED is 41 headwalls and sees around 150 patients/day, 2 FSEDs each have 12 beds. One sees around 30 patients/day, the other 35-40/day Union facility.Salary: Min: $110K - Mid: $125K - Max: Pending HR Approval 15% Director bonus incentiveSign-on & Relocation: Case by Case Basis
