The Facility: This is a 280 bed acute and extended care facility which provides surgical, medical, paediatric, obstetrics and gynaecology, intensive care and psychiatry services as well as extended care and regional services. A high incidence of road accidents, skin cancer, farm injuries and work safety accidents occur in the region. Population numbers swell during the fruit harvest season when an estimated 10,000 itinerant workers from throughout Australia and overseas visit the region. Snake bites, cuts, scratches to the eyes from branches, injuries caused by falling from a fruit picking ladder and allergic reactions are among the most common conditions treated during the this period.
The Role: The Specialist in Respiratory / Sleep Medicine will be expected to take part in the rostered clinical care of inpatients and also conduct outpatient clinics and the outpatient respiratory function testing service. You will also participate in the Medical Unit inpatient roster.
The Requirements: To apply you will need to hold or be eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA and hold the FRACP.
