About the Role:

We are seeking experienced and dedicated Locum Emergency Department Nurses to join our dynamic team. As a Locum ED Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in emergency departments across regional Queensland. This is a temporary position to cover staffing needs, offering flexibility and the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
• Conduct initial patient assessments and triage, prioritising care based on acuity
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
• Monitor patient vital signs and responses to interventions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation
• Assist in emergency procedures and interventions as necessary
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up care

Requirements:

• General registration with AHPRA
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
• Triage training and experience
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
