About the Role:

We are currently seeking compassionate and skilled Locum Mental Health Nurses to join our team. As a Locum Mental Health Nurse, you will provide essential care and support to patients with mental health disorders in a variety of healthcare settings across regional Queensland. This is a temporary position offering flexibility and the opportunity to make a positive impact on individuals' mental well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Provide therapeutic interventions and support to patients and their families
• Monitor patients' mental health status and response to treatment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities

Requirements:

• General registration with AHPRA
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health nursing
• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders, treatments, and evidence-based practices
• Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
