The Role
The Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) in the Emergency Department is primarily responsible for delivering clinical care, with suitable oversight, to patients in need of emergency medical services within a multifaceted clinical setting. This role offers exposure to a critical care setting and entails duties and prospects for independent practice that align with the incumbent's level of experience. kills and experience to broaden and expand your medical career.  The hospital offers a range of interesting and rewarding medical career pathways including:

Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Pathway
  • ­Facilitated rotations including mandatory hospital rotations required for general registration, RACGP and ACRRM GP training. Locally provided and facilitated education and development to support continued clinical learning.
 Career Medical Officer (CMO) Pathway
  • ­Available to doctors awaiting a training position with a GP College training pathway or doctors intending to work as CMOs.
 GP Pathway
  • ­Provides registrars with the required hospital and advanced procedural training experience to work towards fellowship with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and or the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
 Advanced Skills Pathway
  • ­Available for ACRRM and RACGP Registrars undertaking a Fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP) qualification.

The Hospital

This hospital is currently undergoing a $250 million redevelopment to deliver a new state of the art facility to better serve the immediate and surrounding communities. This means you will have access to modern technology and up-to-date infrastructure. This is currently a 120+ bed facility but will expand in the next few years - a great opportunity to establish yourself in a growing hospital. They provide a range of specialist services (both resident & visiting) including emergency medicine, critical care, general medicine, surgery, paediatric medicine, oncology, obstetrics, respiratory medicine, renal dialysis and rehabilitation.

The Requirements
  1. MBBS or equivalent
  2. Currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia
