The Position
As a senior member of the Paediatric team, you will offer clinical expertise within the Department of Paediatrics at the facility. Your responsibilities will encompass the supervision and management of children across various settings, including the Emergency Department, inpatient care, neonatal nursery, outpatients, and community consultations. Oversight of the Child Development Unit and adherence to mandated child protection responsibilities are integral aspects of your role. In addition to these duties, you will provide supervision for the clinical practice of General Practice Paediatricians and junior medical staff. Active engagement in the education of all health staff affiliated with the service is a key component of your responsibilities.

The Facility

Their network incorporates 65 hospitals and 240 health services sites, and employs 7,925 people.

The Requirements
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians – Paediatric Medicine or an equivalent specialist qualification suitable for supervising trainees of that College.
  • Current AHPRA Registration.
  • Sound knowledge of contemporary paediatric practice and procedures.
  • Demonstrated skills in the investigation and care of paediatric patients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • High-level skills in problem-solving and decision-making at both the clinical and individual levels.
  • Appointment subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
  • Compliance with appropriate immunisation requirements.
