• Compensation: The Co-Managed care model provides an alternative to the fee-for-service (FFS) payment method through a Clinical Alternative Relationship Plan (cARP). The cARP compensates physicians for providing a set of clinical services at defined facilities to a target patient population, where FFS billing would not suffice. The decision to enter the cARP is voluntary for physicians and they can enter/ terminate their participation at any time with 30 days notice. Onsite shifts are paid at an hourly rate defined by Alberta Health. There is no opportunity for FFS billing within the cARP. Successful candidates who choose to enter the cARP will be contracted annually.
