The Facility: This is a 300-bed Tertiary Facility that provides acute care facilities and treats over 24,000 inpatients and over 225,000 outpatients annually. The Emergency Department provides a 24 hour, 7 day a week emergency medical care service. It is the only major emergency department in the North of the State. Specialist emergency physicians are always on duty on weekdays, most weekends and most evenings. An emergency physician is on-call 24 hours a day for major trauma and critically ill medical cases. The department is recognized for advanced training of emergency physicians.
The Role: They use a team approach to address the needs of patients and their carers, and work with health professionals across all health settings bringing knowledge, skills and expertise to enhance the care they provide. The palliative care teams include palliative care medical specialists, specialist nurses, specialist social workers, pastoral care and volunteers.
The Requirements: You must hold the FRACP and or be eligible to obtain it via training from NZ, UK, Ireland, USA or Canada.
