The Role
To deliver specialised Obstetric and Gynecology services encompassing the comprehensive care of inpatient and ambulatory patients. This role is situated within the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at a major facility in the NT, extending services to regional hospitals and remote communities. You will actively contribute to the educational landscape, participating in both undergraduate and postgraduate education, including vocational training and supervision.

The selection will be determined at the SC or SSC level, contingent on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.

Remuneration Package
  • Staff Specialist Clinician SMO1.1 - SMO1.6 $240,445 - $293,843 (including salary $207,165 - $253,495)
  • Senior Staff Specialist Clinician SMO2.1 - SMO2.3 - $303,839 - $335,923 (including salary $262,168 - $290,005)

The Facility

Situated as a Tertiary and level 3 Teaching Hospital, this institution boasts nearly 400 beds and a dedicated staff of approximately 1,700 individuals. Extending its services to a population of 200,000, the hospital's catchment area encompasses urban communities, regional hospitals, and remote Aboriginal communities. In affiliation with Flinders University, it hosts an onsite Medical School and holds ACEM accreditation as a major referral center, offering a two-year advanced emergency training program.

The Requirements
  1. Eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  2. Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  3. Completed not less than the equivalent of six years of full-time service in medical practice as a Staff Specialist.
  4. Demonstrated recognition as a professional leader in the field.
  5. The ability to work effectively in cross-cultural environments.
  6. A commitment to improving Indigenous health.
  7. Evidence of commitment to teaching and learning, research and continuous quality improvement.
  8. Experience in clinical governance, risk management and/or policy, strategy development is desirable.
