About us:

The Medical Interim Care unit is a dynamic workplace which treats Central Queensland Adults for a variety of medical and geriatric conditions including Covid-19. The ward consists of 24 beds, made up of 10 single rooms, 2 negative pressure rooms and 6 double rooms.

About the Role:

The Clinical Nurse (Ward 1) models' evidence-based practice at a proficient level relevant to the area of General medical and gerontology specialty. The Clinical Nurse (Med 1) is an experienced clinician who actively engages in the development of a learning culture, through face-to-face interaction with others, and quality improvement through portfolio responsibilities, whilst working within with the clinical unit and respective teams.

About you:

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and
  • Current annual practicing certificate.

We are looking for a Registered Nurse who:

  • Provides nursing services within health service settings; and
  • Demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by registration requirements, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation and context of care.
  • Able to practise independently and interdependently.
  • Assumes accountability and responsibility for own actions and delegation of care to Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing and healthcare workers.
  • Demonstrates evidence of autonomy and exercises greater levels of professional judgement in the clinical environment as the employee is an experienced practitioner.
  • This role reports professionally to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) of SAGE and operationally to Associate NUM of Medical 1.
  • This role will work directly with Nursing and Midwifery, Allied Health, and Medical staff within the service.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $128,057 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary between $52.86 - $56.60 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
