Your opportunity:

  • The Public Health Medicine Registrar will provide high quality public health services including communicable disease control and immunisation; environmental health and on occasion, non-communicable disease to the community of Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service, and provide leadership to junior medical officers, under the supervision of Public Health Physicians.
  • The Public Health Registrar position is available to trainees of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (AFPHM) training program or supervised practice for international medical graduate under specialist recognition pathway, to gain broad experience in the practice of public health medicine, under supervision and in a supportive environment. The position will provide a significant contribution to gaining the competencies as required by the AFPHM.

Temporary Full Time (76 hours p.f.) from date of appointment for 12 months.

Prior to being made an offer of employment, you will be required to demonstrate immunity to the following Vaccine Preventable Diseases ( https://tinyurl.com/yc6pgyt2 )(VPD): Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (chicken pox) and Pertussis (whooping cough).

Our offer:

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $170,378 p.a., comprising salary between $125,808 - $145,865 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) and vocational training subsidy.
