About us:

Our two Units are the Sub-Acute Geriatric Evaluation Unit (SAGE)and the Medical Interim Care Unit.

The SAGE Unit aims are to provide coordinated interdisciplinary discharge planning, prevent premature admission to a residential facility and prevent readmission to hospital.

The Medical Interim Care Unit is a dynamic workplace which treats Central Queensland Older Adults for a variety of medical conditions who are awaiting residential aged care placements.

About the role:

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager has responsibility for professional leadership in supporting the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) with an opportunity to work collaboratively to lead practice changes and clinical innovation.

About you:

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Registration as a Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Current practicing certificate
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification is desirable for this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.
  • Ability to support the NUM in maintaining staff performance and development process.
  • Utilise coaching, succession planning and facilitation to provide opportunities for role development and clinical experience.
  • Evidence of positive role modelling and adopting a solutions-focused approach to leading the resolution of issues in line with Hospital and Health Service policies/values.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of $137,246 p.a. is comprised of:

  • Salary rates of $59.41 - $60.66 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
