Remuneration package of up to $522,648 p.a. comprising salary range of $204,206 - $258,910 p.a., (L18-L27), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%). attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary), regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary), motor vehicle allowance between $21,000 and $25,000 p.a., professional development allowance of $21,500 p.a. + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave, private practice arrangements, communications package, professional indemnity cover and inaccessibility allowance (if applicable).

About the role
Role requirements
FRACP (or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians) and registrable as a specialist in Infectious Diseases with the Medical Board of Australia.

About the department
The successful applicant will join a team of five Infectious Diseases Physicians and Clinical Microbiologists, delivering tertiary inpatient, consult, outpatient and AMS services. The team is supported by two ID Advanced Trainees, 2 Microbiology Trainees and junior registrars.
Townsville University Hospital provides extensive specialist services, including neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, oncology, a haematological stem cell transplant unit, and a recently established renal transplant unit.
The clinical load is varied including tropical infections, such as melioidosis, Q-fever, brucellosis and rickettsial infections.
There is extensive opportunity for clinical teaching and research, with strong affiliate links to James Cook University and the Australian Institute for Tropical Health and Medicine.
