About the role

The Finance Officer is responsible for the management of the delivery of a broad range of professional financial accounting services and the provision of expert advice to a diverse client base. This role will develop and maintain appropriate policies, procedures, guidelines and systems to facilitate Metro North Health's effective financial management.

About you

How we do things is as important as what we do therefore you will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key technical and behavioural capabilities, knowledge and experience.  Within the context of the responsibilities described above under Key Accountabilities, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in a financial accounting environment within a large organisation.
  • Experience in assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements for a large organisation.
  • Knowledge, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge, of contemporary financial accounting issues impacting a large, not for profit organisation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the use of Excel and other health information systems, together with experience in the research, review, interpretation and analysis of information.
  • Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within and contribute significantly towards successful teams.
