About the role

The Nursing and Midwifery Resource Team (NMRT) Unit operates a seven-day service, 24 hours a day. NMRT supports the WMHS organisational needs by providing quality, timely and excellent patient care across most clinical departments | wards of Ipswich Hospital.

The role of the NMRT cohort within the organisation is to provide day to day emergency leave replacement and short-term contract relief for clinical departments throughout Ipswich Hospital. This role requires a generalist Nursing skillset with knowledge of both medical and surgical nursing.  Clinical rotations are available to support the professional development upskilling of our team in specialist areas such as ICU, ED, RDU, HITH, CSW, SCN, PACU and Community.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Contemporary clinical knowledge in the area of acute nursing, delivering competent nursing care in complex situations while providing support to other team members. 
  • Ability to communicate to a high standard effectively and engage with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors whilst displaying a high level of professional nursing care.
  • Ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
  • Ability to use or learn to use information systems appropriate to the position.
  • Ability to provide patient and family centred care to the patient using best practice and within the standard of practice of a Registered Nurse.
