Are you keen to make a real difference?  Further your experience here by joining our dedicated team at Yarrabah Emergency Service, a modern regional facility adding value to the health service through continual development of clinical knowledge and skills. Yarrabah is an indigenous community located 51 km from Cairns. Yarrabah Emergency Service provides 24 hours emergency and accident care only, however, to assist cultural requirements palliation of patients and returning for care often occurs.

Remuneration value $73 477 up to $91 783 p.a. (L18-L27) part time,employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%), annual leave loading (17.5%), professional development allowance, motor vehicle allowance, professional development leave 3.6 weeks p.a., private practice arrangements,plus an Inaccessibility allowance of $21,400 per annum FT (category 2) 50% paid after 6 months completion period and 25% paid in 3 monthly instalments thereafter, applies to part time SMOs on a pro rata basis.

Eligible Health workers who commence working for Queensland Health in a rural or remote may receive up to $70,000 (pro rata) incentive payments under theWorkforce attraction incentive scheme | Careers (health.qld.gov.au) ( https://www.careers.health.qld.gov.au/working-for-us/workforce-attraction-incentive-scheme )

Purpose of the Role
Working at the Yarrabah Emergency Service within rural health services across the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service, you will contribute as a dynamic Director of Medical Services, providing high quality clinical care to patients and superior leadership to our team.

  • It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment (Health Employment Directive No. 01/16):
  • measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
  • varicella (chicken pox)
  • pertussis (whooping cough)
  • hepatitis B
  • tuberculosis
