WE’RE HIRING!!

Highland Trauma Unit, Ward 3A, is a 34 bedded unit who are currently recruiting Band 5 Staff Nurses to join our busy, hard working and friendly team. We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and motivated nurses who have an interest in Orthopaedic nursing and who possess excellent organisational and time management skills. The nursing team work 12.5 hour shifts and this includes both day and night shifts. Flexible working hours and patterns can also be accommodated. Orthopaedic experience is not necessary and training will be given on commencing the post.

We have a well-established team who work very well together to provide a high standard of nursing care for our patients. We deal with a wide range of injuries which result from trauma including hip fractures, long bone fractures, spinal injuries, soft tissue injuries, infections and any other injuries relating to Orthopaedics.

Our department is part of the Scottish Trauma Network and we accept the stepdown of patients belonging to the area from Major Trauma Centres across the country. There is a Major Trauma Rehabilitation Team based in Raigmore and our team works closely with theirs to ensure the patient’s rehabilitation journey encompasses a person centred, multi-disciplinary team approach. We also care for many patients who suffer with Dementia. We have a dedicated Dementia Champion Nurse in the ward and provide regular training for staff to help care for this client group. There is also a specialist Hip # Nurse team in the department and they are currently undergoing an exciting transition to expand their service.

You are welcome to come and visit us before you apply for this post. You would be joining a team of highly skilled nurses who all strive to provide the highest quality of care on a daily basis.
