About the role

The Exercise Physiologist will provide quality, evidence based clinical Exercise Physiology services (exercise session planning, prescription and supervision) for clients of the West Moreton HHS Chronic Conditions Service with a focus on cardiac and respiratory patient cohorts.

The Chronic Conditions Service currently operates a Monday to Friday service, generally within business hours. Afterhours clinic times can apply to certain teams and rosters and can include 0630 starts and 1900 finishes as required. Service expansion into the future may require additional days/hours of operation, to be determined by the demand of the community.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to plan, prescribe, implement and evaluate exercise programs for Chronic Disease clients with a focus on clients with cardiac and respiratory disorders
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and manage own time to meet and exceed customer expectations, with an enthusiastic, calm and flexible approach
  • Communication, negotiation and consultative skills, with an ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary health care team
  • Manages challenges constructively and positively
  • Experience and commitment to identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities to continually improve patient care outcomes
  • Demonstrated data analysis skills including abilities to undertake outcome evaluation and translate this to service improvement

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16(PDF) ( https://www.health.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0009/150120/hed-0116.pdf )
  • Appointee must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in exercise physiology or human movement studies; recognised in Queensland and be an accredited member of Exercise and Sports science Australia (ESSA)
