Metro South Health is Australia's first digital health service and one of the largest in Queensland, with an estimated residential population of approximately one million people or 23 per cent of Queensland's population.

This is your opportunity to join the dedicated team of professionals at Metro South Health and be part of a world-class, dynamic and growing health service that embraces technology, excellence in health care, teaching, research and empowering our people to be the best in serving our community.

About the Role

The Internal Medicine Unit is a group of 3 Medical Wards (5A, 5B and 5C) co-located on the 5th Floor of Building 1 at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Ward 5C consists of 24 beds catering to general medical patients with acute illness or exacerbation and sub-specialties in Diabetes and Endocrinology and Medically Unstable Eating Disorder. Ward 5C offers a multidisciplinary approach to patient centred care. Evidenced based nursing practices with innovative models of care delivery are actively embraced and incorporated aimed at improving quality outcomes for its specific client population and staff. The ward therefore offers exciting leadership and management opportunities for clinical nurses wanting to contribute in a positive, proactive and safe nursing team environment.

The Enrolled Nurse Advanced Skills (ENAS) practices under predominantly indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN); utilising advanced clinical skills to provide evidence based person centred care within Ward 5C. The ENAS applies their depth of knowledge, experience, and competence to effectively develop, provide and evaluate patient care, with regular communication and/or assistance from the RN.
