Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

The Medical Workforce unit is tasked with effectively managing the medical workforce of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS). The functions of the Medical Workforce unit include recruitment, retention, and credentialing of Medical Officers. The unit is also responsible for locum engagement, medical rosters, term rotations and leave management.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Administer the recruitment and appointment processes within an allocated portfolio that may include Senior Medical Officers, Visiting Medical Officers and Junior Medical Officers (including locum engagements) while applying all relevant recruitment policies and industrial instruments.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of various legislation and directives relating to medical recruitment including, but not limited to, requirements for the Medical Board of Australia, Queensland Health, Australian Medical Council, Medicare Australia and Medical Colleges.
  • Provide accurate advice to the Principal Advisor- Workforce, Rostering Team and Clinical departments around timeframes of medical officer recruitment, relocation and onboarding.

Remuneration value up to $110,852 p.a., comprising salary between $88,187 - $97,157 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO4).
