About us:

Geriatric and Rehabilitation Services (GARS) provides interdisciplinary inpatient, ambulatory and outreach services from a purpose built 16 bed facility located in Rockhampton. The Rehabilitation Physician will work closely with multidisciplinary leaders including the Nurse Unit Manager and the Program Coordinator.

About the role:

Provide high quality clinical services to older people with medical and rehabilitation needs, and to promote and provide leadership in the delivery of holistic health care for older people across Central Queensland.

This position will work closely with the Director of Nursing, Aged Care Clinical and Rehabilitation Services, the Nurse Unit Manager, and the Program Coordinator within Rehabilitation Services. This position reports to the Director, Medical Services – Rockhampton Business Unit.

About you:

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Fellowship of the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (FAFRM) and eligible for registration as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia in Rehabilitation Medicine.
  • Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies.
  • High level of clinical knowledge, proficiency and skills in Rehabilitation Medicine.
  • Well-developed ability to direct the process of assessment, admission, ongoing care, transfer and discharge of patients.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $514,421 (L27) is comprised of:

  • A salary between $204,206 - $258,910 p.a. (L18 – L24, L25 – L27)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
