Band 7 0.6 WTE Autism Diagnostic Practitioner /Trainee Annex21 Band 6

Salary: £46,244 - £53,789 pro rata
Contract: 22.5hrs
The Autism Diagnostic Service consists of a single practitioner along with 0.6 WTE administration post with management and operational support from the Professional Lead- (Adult Learning Disability Service). Caseload supervision has historically been offered by another NHS Board
We are seeking to recruit an experienced Practitioner to provide an Autism Diagnostic Service to adults in Argyll and Bute.
But would also consider an experienced candidate as a trainee that may not have all necessary skills but with a willingness to be supported with training to reach required level of expertise.
You must be a registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional with Professional knowledge, skill and generic clinical expertise attained through experience in relevant post.
The successful candidate will have good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills in order to engage with neuro- diverse adults who may be autistic, their family members and carers.
We anticipate the post holder will have had previous experience and training in a nationally recognised tool (eg. diagnostic interview for social disorders (DISCO) or the Autistic Diagnostic Interview- Revised(ADI-R) and/or Autistic Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS))
As the sole ASD Practitioner for Argyll and Bute the purpose will be to undertake specialist clinical and diagnostic assessments for adults who have been referred for an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) diagnosis, provide onward referral where appropriate and assist in developing MDT care plans to ensure appropriate care for adults with a diagnosis of ASD in the Argyll and Bute area.
You will take a leading role in conjunction with health and social care colleagues in the promotion of best practice in ASD as well as providing advice, awareness and training. There will be opportunities to network with other specialist practitioners across Scotland.
