The Mackay Hospital Expansion Project Team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Project Lead (Health Practitioner or Assistant Director of Nursing) to join their team on a temporary basis.

About the Team
The Mackay Hospital Expansion Project (MHEP) team represents the Mackay Hospital and Health Service in two major infrastructure projects namely the State-Wide Capital Expansion Program (CEP) and Multi-Story Carpark Project (MSCP) with a total funding envelope of $325m for the MHHS and a 2026 delivery date.
State-Wide Capacity Expansion Program:
In July 2022, the Queensland Government announced a $250million funding commitment to carry out the MHEP. This vital infrastructure project, which is being expedited as part of the CEP, will deliver an additional 128 inpatient beds comprising of paediatric, surgical, medical, maternity, special care nursery and sub-acute wards for the Mackay Base Hospital (MBH). Medical Day Infusion (MDI), Birthing Suites, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, and a helipad is also included in the project scope.

The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
