ADULT MENTAL HEALTH OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SERVICE

BAND 5 OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

37 Hours per week

South Aberdeenshire Adult Community Mental Health Team

Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership.

This post provides the opportunity for an innovative, enthusiastic therapist to join our Occupational Therapy team within the South Community Mental Health Team.

The post will involve working closely within a small team of Occupational Therapists and the wider multi-disciplinary team. Multi-disciplinary/multi-agency team working is essential to this role and previous experience working in Adult Mental Health would be of benefit.

The post holder will provide an Occupational Therapy service to residents in South Aberdeenshire with mental health problems.  Patients may be seen in their own home, a community setting or in a clinical setting.  Patients are seen with the aim of assessing their functioning, maximizing independence, making onward referral within the team where appropriate, and facilitating timely and planned discharge to prevent hospital admission.

Opportunities for continuous personal development (CPD) are encouraged with regular supervision and support provided. There is a band 5 OT support group in the wider Mental Health and Learning Disability Service.  We also support flying start and preceptorship.
