The opportunity  
The facilitator will work collaboratively with the Perioperative Nurse Educator to provide direct nursing care utilising clinical skills, education and support to patients/clients and nursing staff within the unit to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care.  The facilitator will actively participate in the Graduate Nurse training program and subsequent projects.

This role provides leadership whilst performing the role of the instrument nurse and circulating nurse within this operating theatre.

Employment Term

  • Fixed Term Temporary full-time, 29/04/2024 - 28/04/2025.

Generous remuneration package value up to $128,435 p.a.comprising:

  • Salary rates between $4017.60 - $4302.00 p.f. (NG6-1)
  • Annual leave loading + leave
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution

Role requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Highly Desirable: Post Graduate Qualification in Perioperative Nursing or working towards a relevant Qualification.
  • Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Proven ability to provide clinical education and support at an advanced level and demonstrate own professional development.
  • Demonstrated ability and skills to perform the roles of a Instrument Nurse/Circulatory Nurse in accordance with Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and teach using a variety of learning styles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or within a collegiate/team structure.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing clinical skills, support and education to patient/clients and nursing staff within the Unit to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care.
  • Demonstrated ability to priorities work commitments and work autonomously in a rapidly changing work environment.
