Delivering specialised Palliative Care Services for both inpatient and outpatient settings
Providing professional leadership to medical staff within the service, actively contributing to the multidisciplinary patient care team.
Ensuring the organisation, management, and provision of expert clinical services in Palliative Care, including community-based care.
This service is unified across multiple sites. To meet service needs, the Medical Officer may be required to provide clinical services at any facility as part of this health care service, aligning with the clinical services capability of that particular facility.

The Facility Primary referral facility for Central Queensland, boasting a capacity of 305 beds. Specialized medical services encompass Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Haematology, Medical Oncology, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Intensive Care, and Anaesthetics. Additionally, a variety of clinical services are offered through periodic visits from tertiary hospitals in Queensland.
The Requirements
MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Staff Specialists: Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Palliative Medicine with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA).
Extensive clinical experience with appropriate knowledge and skills extending across the range of Palliative Care services.
Commitment to the principles of quality in health care including participation in quality improvement programs relevant to Palliative Medicine.
