About the role

To provide for the delivery of safe and nutritious food while adhering to Queensland Health guidelines, policies and procedures.  As a Food Safety Supervisor, oversee the day-to-day implementation of food safety in the workplace and apply and monitor food safety requirements.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Fulfil the accountabilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Health's core values, as outlined above.
  • Ensure ordering, food preparation, cooking production, presentation methods and distribution services are in accordance with the food safety program.
  • Prepare meals for special dietary requirements
  • Rotate stock and monitor the quality of stock received
  • Control portion size and quality of food
  • Participate in menu development
  • Maintain food presentation standards
  • Report maintenance requirements
  • Have the skills of a Food Safety Supervisor
  • Actively contribute to maintaining a safe workplace that values the health and safety of co-workers, clients and visitors.
  • Actively contribute to developing and maintaining a culture where staff are vigilant to risks to themselves, their co-workers, clients and visitors (including health and safety, business and operational risks).
  • Actively participate in the Health Service 1:1 conversation process.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Proven knowledge and application of cooking requirements and techniques.
  • Proven ability to follow standard recipes and catering procedures.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good organisational and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain records and documents relevant to the position.

Mandatory Requirements:
