About your opportunity:

Fixed term temporary full-time / ASAP up to 6 months 

The Homeless Health Outreach Team provide mental health, Dual Diagnosis and Alcohol & Drug holistic services for people experiencing episodes of homelessness or have a history of recent unstable housing tenure associated with a decline in social functioning, have a probable mental illness, are not currently engaged with community mental health services, are not able or have difficulty engaging with generic psychiatric services.

Essentially the target group is those people who have or are likely to miss out on receiving psychiatric services due to their unstable accommodation. The service works with people in crisis accommodation, shelter less individuals and those in low cost rooming services or alcohol and drug rehabilitation / detoxification settings. The team plays a role in providing shared care and consultation with other homelessness agencies.

The Allied Health Clinician - Senior will participate as a member of the Mental Health Team in providing comprehensive mental health assessment, case management, intervention or group work as required within a multidisciplinary framework, ensuring the implementation of individual assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow up, multidisciplinary consultation, liaison with referring agents, discharge planning and evaluation of care using appropriate outcome and data measurement systems.

Generous remuneration package value up to $12,731 p.m. comprising:

  • Salary range of $4769.60 to $5132.40 p.f. (HP4)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements:

  • Proof of qualification (Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work) and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other areas of the service.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
