About the role

  • Assist in the management of all the Patient Support Services Caboolture Hospital ensuring that an effective and efficient service is maintained.
  • Manage staff within contemporary Human Resources management principles to achieve quality outcomes.
  • Promote the Patient Support Services department by networking with staff and clients to achieve client focussed quality outcomes.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of cleaning, porterage and patient assistance services as applicable to a large health facility including maintaining quality management standards.
  • Ability to coordinate, lead & manage floor based teams in the practice of continuous quality improvement, in meeting appropriate standards and achieving benchmarks in a large organisation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to effectively coordinate the resources of Patient Support Services, into an effective work unit in line with quality Human Management practices.
  • High level of communication, negotiation, consultation and interpersonal skills in an environment of change and evolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with a high level of independence in a multi-Disciplinary team in the performance of day to day duties and to take initiative in situations not covered by existing policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of or an ability to acquire knowledge of procedures, policies, regulations and standards, which impact upon the position, in particular Public-Sector Guidelines, and a knowledge of contemporary human resource Management issues such as workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination.    
  • Demonstrated knowledge of patient assistance techniques, cleaning procedures, best practice and quality management principles.
  • Proven knowledge and the ability to manage a large and varied team of oriented work force into an effective client and quality focussed work unit.
