An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children’s Nurse to join our NHS Highland Senior Nursing Management Team within the Women & Child Division, and make a positive difference to children and young people.

We are looking for a dynamic, dedicated and experienced Paediatric Clinical Nurse Manager to ensure  we are delivering outstanding services to the children and young people of the North Highlands. 

The role with provide paediatric clinical nursing supervision and leadership at the highest level, in addition line management and support to the paediatric nursing team on a daily basis.

The post holder will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and support staff to develop and deliver a successful and innovative service to serve the health needs of babies, children, young people, and their families across all aspects of acute, community and specialist paediatric nursing services. Working in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary teams the post holder will take responsibility and accountability for the delivery of clinical services within paediatric nursing team.

As well as strategic direction and implementation of service developments the Clinical Nursing Manager will be responsible for the line management of staff including supervision, appraisal and continued professional development to ensure the team are operating at the highest of standards and within local and national guidelines.

Overall, the Paediatric Clinical nurse Manager will be operationally and clinically responsible for the management and provision of quality evidence-based intervention, advice, support and care for our children and young people and their carers.

The successful post holder will lead by example to create a supportive, compassionate and caring culture.

There is an expectation of an out of hours on call component to this post on a rota basis.
