About you:

In your new role you will…

  • Demonstrate knowledge, expertise and skill in hospital and community-based services. This includes an understanding of all forms of pharmaceutical care according to the principles of evidence-based practice, as well as knowledge of acts, regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills including consultation, negotiation and the ability to appropriately address conflict. This includes consultation and liaison with consumers, key stakeholders, health professionals, clients and community members.
  • Understanding and commitment to Queensland Health's core values.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will deliver clinical pharmacy services to customers, patients and stakeholders within the Cairns Hospital as part of the multidisciplinary team.

About your role:

  • As experience builds, apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician.
  • Provide input in the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within the work area.
  • Participate in vaccination programs as required.
  • Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities.
  • Provide clinical education pertaining to routine tasks for interns, students and less experienced staff with the support of senior clinical staff.
  • Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with, provide leadership to a multi-disciplinary team and implement the APAC guidelines in a team environment, so as to provide quality services, support research activity and promote a model of best practice for the benefit of patients and staff.
