The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Social Worker - Senior (Headspace In-Reach Better Care Together)to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia. 

You will

• Deliver efficient and high level mental health social work services, within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards
• Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols that support the continuum of care for headspace consumers
• Act as a role model for other staff by promoting professional standards, trust and open communication and by demonstrating self-responsibility
• Assist in activities to ensure the effective functioning of the service including provision of orientation to new staff, mentoring and support of less experienced staff

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• A tertiary degree in Social Work
• Eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). 
• Blue Card
• Driver Licence
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Temporary full time (12 months with the possibility of extension)
• Base salary ranging from $124 435 - $133 901 per annum

Mental Health and Specialty Services provide integrated hospital and community specialised mental health assessment and treatment services across the age-spectrum. Our services aim to be consumer focused and recovery oriented. Under the Bilateral Schedule on Mental Health and Suicide Prevention: Queensland, Queensland Health and headspace will work collaboratively to improve access to multidisciplinary treatment and care for adolescents and young people aged 12-25 years, whilst supporting integration with existing primary, secondary and tertiary services in Queensland.
