About you:

In your new role you will…

  • Demonstrate knowledge and clinical skill in the provision of in the provision of culturally capable clinical services, including therapeutic interventions, assessment and care planning for consumers with complex mental health needs.
  • Demonstrate ability to apply evidence-based practice within profession specific contemporary frameworks.
  • Demonstrate ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships with consumers, carers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate ability to participate in quality or service improvement activities under the clinical practice and/or operational supervision of a more experienced practitioner.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will deliver evidence-based clinical services, including assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic intervention and evaluation, to consumers of the Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health and ATODS service. To provide professional and clinical leadership in partnership with professional and operational managers.

About your role:

  • using a biopsychosocial model conduct mental health assessments and assist consumers and families/supports to develop a comprehensive individual recovery plan and facilitate the effective delivery, monitoring and evaluation of this plan.
  • Undertake discipline specific assessments and interventions within well-established clinical protocols.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative work practices and relationships with other agencies (including non-government organisations), service providers and consumer and carer groups to ensure consumershave access to an integrated service system.
  • Provide clinical education and supervision pertaining to routine tasks for students those involved in observational placements and less experienced clinicians with the support of senior clinical staff.
