The Minor Injury and Illness Clinic (MIIC) provides episodic unscheduled care to patients with acute illnesses and minor injuries, which are not anticipated to be life-threatening in nature. The MIIC does not provide complex emergency care and is an acute primary care service which works in partnership with local general practice providers to ensure continuity of care for the patient. The Minor Injury and Illness Clinic is a 7 day a week multidisciplinary service (General Practitioner, Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse, Registered Nurse, and Administration support staff) dedicated to providing a focused response to the needs of patients with non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries that do not require the services of an Emergency Department. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • Contribute to quality health care and the Nursing profession by providing advanced educational leadership and clinical and educational governance, and facilitating team participation in lifelong learning, research activities and the continued development of clinical practice.

Remuneration value up to $80 878 p.a., comprising salary rates: $52.86 - $56.60 p.h. p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 6 (1)) (part time position available, 48 hrs p.f.).
