Job Description

  1. To provide high standard patient care in accordance with the NGI-IA mission, vision and values under the supervision of a consultant/Associate Consultant, Division of Internal Medicine.
  2. To provide inpatient care to patients admitted to the hospital under the name of the Consultant in the Division of Internal Medicine with whom he/she works.
  3. To participate in the delivery of health care to Internal of Medicine patients in the ambulatory care setting under the supervision of a consultant. The Head of the Division of Internal Medicine determines the size and frequency of this participation.
  4. To provide under the direct supervision of a consultant in the Division of Internal Medicine, consultation service to other divisions within the Department of Medicine and other departments within the hospital during the regular working and the on call hours.
  5. To perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic interventions and procedures for which he/she has been granted specific privileges based on his/her training, qualification, experience according to the specific privileging condition approved by the Division of Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine and the organization.
  6. To participate in on call coverage of the Division of Internal Medicine in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Division of Internal Medicine, the Department of Medicine and the organization.
  7. To actively participate in the Quality improvement program of the Department of Medicine.
  8. To provide close supervision of the clinical performance of staff physicians and physicians in training (interns, residents, and fellows)
  9. To participate in scientific research, contribute to the Division of Internal Medicine and Department of Medicine educational activities and postgraduate training programs, and to serve in committees as directed by the Division Head of Internal Medicine, Chairman, Department of Medicine, or the Executive Management of the organization.
  10. To adhere to all rules and regulations of the Division of Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine, andOrganization. Consultants are expected to familiarize themselves and comply with both the APPs and IPPs.
  11. To perform other relevant duties and charges as directed by the Head, Division of Internal Medicine or the Chairman, Department of medicine.
  12. To comply with all the professional and ethical standards and express adherence to the Medical Staff by Laws of the organization.
  13. To show the expected respect, at all times, to patients, their families, colleagues, subordinates and all other members of the healthcare team.

Skills

Education:

Graduation from a Medical school recognized by NGHA. Successful completion of a structured accredited Residency Training Program acceptable to the NGHA. Ce1tification by the appropriate Specialty Board approved by the Saudi Commission of Health Specialties and acceptable to the NGHA.

Work Experience:

Superior or above average performance in areas of patient care and teaching/training activities. Productivity in medical research merits strong consideration. Publications in peer-reviewed journals are highly desirable.
