MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The scope of job responsibilities for an Associate Consultant in Internal Medicine is basically the same as that of a Consultant in Internal Medicine. The organization regulations are however, to be followed in relation to the admitting privileges and running an outpatient service under his/her name. The Associate Consultant would usually work under the legal and professional supervision of a consultant.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from a Medical school recognized by NGHA. Successful completion of a structured accredited Residency Training Program acceptable to the NGHA. Certification by the appropriate Specialty Board approved by the Saudi Commission of Health Specialties and acceptable to the NGHA (Essential).
WORK EXPERIENCE
Training and post training period is less than 7 years. Should have a minimum of two years' experience in tertiary care center in Internal Medicine specialty after certification. Of this, at least one year should be abroad in a program acceptable to NGHA. Superior or above average performance in areas of patient care and teaching/training activities is required ( Essential). Productivity in medical research merits strong consideration. Publications in peer reviewed journals are highly desirable (Preferred).
