Job Description

Principle Duties:

  1. He is governed by the responsibilities outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws.
  2. Provide the highest quality of surgical care within the Pediatrics Surgery service.
  3. Operate in the OR within his approved privileges.
  4. Physically present in the OR to assess and supervise his assistant to conduct surgery when his assistant has no approved privileges to carry out the procedure under the category of Solo in the privileges form.
  5. Expected to be present and productive during normal working hours.
  6. To be available for contact at any time while in town.
  7. Carry on administrative duties as assigned by the Section Head, Chairman of Surgery and/or Executive Director,Medical Services, CR.
  8. Continuously upgrades his academic requirements and skills by actively participating in the continuing medical education program in the hospital.
  9. Involvement in the instruction and education of the residents.
  10. ls encouraged to undertake research activities.
  11. Reports to the Chairman, Department of Surgery through the Section Head, Division of Pediatrics Surgery.
  12. Attend and participate in all division meetings, educational program of the division and attend other meetings as requested by Section Head or Chairman of Surgery.
  13. Meet the CME requirements of Saudi specialization.
  14. Responsible for submitting approved TRA by the Section Head, to block his clinic or provide approved coverage by completing the clinic blocking form through the proper chain of command and blocking the OR prior to submitting the TRA to the Chairman for final approval. Ensure approval of proper TRA by the Chairman before going on leave.
  15. Participate in the ongoing quality management program.
  16. Maintain the spirit of teamwork in the Division of Pediatrics Surgery.
  17. Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Essential and Preferred Requirements: (P-Preferred, E-Essential, B-Beneficial)

Education: {E} Graduate from a medical school recognized by NGHA.

{E} Successful completion of a structured, accredited residency training program acceptable to NGHA.

{E} Certification by the appropriate specialty board approved by the Saudi Council for Health Specialties and acceptable to

NGHA.

Work Experience: {E} Total experience training and post-training should be equal to, or more than, seven (7) years. The candidate should have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a tertiary care center in Pediatrics Surgery after certification. Of this, at least one year should be abroad in a program acceptable to NGHA.
