The Position The Department is seeking an experienced Consultant Surgeon to join the team. This position will experience a varied case mix, providing surgical care, leadership, ensuring safety and quality of surgical services.
The Location From the majestic heights of mountain range in the west through to the deep coral lagoons of the Barrier Reef, the Region provides the population of 64,000 with an enviable lifestyle within a strong and dynamic economy. The sub-tropical climate and its proximity to islands, waterways and beaches provides year-round boating, fishing, swimming and surfing. The climate and oceanic setting also yields delicious seafood including the famous mud crab. The area has well developed infrastructure and services including a regional airport.
The Facility The Hospital provides health services, including emergency, outpatients, general medicine and surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, high-dependency, palliative, Telehealth and community mental health. The Hospital has adopted an integrated approach to service delivery to ensure continuity, effectiveness and efficiency in the provision of health care.
The Requirements To apply one or more of the following may apply:
Hold or be eligible for registration with AHPRA
Hold or be eligible for the FRACS
IMG's eligible for Competent Authority Pathway - UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, NZ
IMG's assessed by RACS and found to be substantially comparable.
At least 12 months recent experience at a Consultant level
