Northern Health is seeking an Emergency Physician for an exciting opportunity to provide Emergency Room coverage in Fort St John, British Columbia, Canada. Put your enhanced skills training to good use in this varied and diverse practice opportunity!

Fort St John Hospital is a state-of-the-art 55 bed hospital and 123 bed residential care facility serving a population of approximately 23,000 and is one of two area Emergency Rooms serving a catchment area of approximately 70,000.

The Emergency Room sees 25,000+ visits per year, currently covered by 3 full time Emergency Physicians with assistance from other Family Physicians in the community.

Qualifications:
  • Emergency experience
  • Eligible for The College of Family Physicians of Canada Cert. (CCFP)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

$450,000+


RSA Incentives

Recruitment Incentive: $20,000
Moving Allowance: $9,000 - $15,000 (TBD)
Retention Flat Fee: $32,931.30
Retention Premium: 21.70%

REEF (Rural Emergency Enhancement Funding) and MOCAP (Medical On Call Availability Program) available on top of MSP billings.
Rural Education Action Plan (REAP) available.
Rural Continuing Medical Education (RCME) available.

Moving allowance available: $15,000 if moving from outside of Canada; $12,000 if moving within Canada but outside of BC; $9,000 if moving within BC. Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) funding is subject to change without notice.


Fort St. John Hospital:

The Fort St. John Hospital has 44 Acute Care beds and 124 residential beds and is equipped to handle 22,000 ER visits per year. Some more highlights about the hospital:
• Endoscopy suite, 2 state-of-the-art operating rooms,
plus a procedure room
• Ambulatory clinics including Cancer and Hemodialysis
• Medical and Surgical inpatient rooms (40 beds)
• 3 Intensive care units
• Minor surgeries
• 7 single Maternity rooms for Labour, Delivery, and Post-Partum
Fort St. John also has the Health Unit and Primary Care Clinic which serve the community.
