Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) - Nurse Staffing and Support

The role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager for Staffing and Support to join our Integrated Operations Centre team. This pivotal role involves overseeing a large and diverse group of healthcare workers including nurses, midwives, Assistants in Nursing (AINs), Care Assistants, Ward Aides and administrative staff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, optimising daily staffing operations across the service and fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.

This position demands strong organisational and problem-solving skills, as it involves acting in a leadership role and managing workplace activities such as human resources, quality improvement, project management, and practice development.

You'll be:

  • Well supported by a dedicated team of Associate Nurse Unit Managers and Clinical Coaches who report to the NUM and support in daily operations.
  • Joining a strong team culture that fosters collaboration, professional growth, and mutual support among all staff members.

  • Working closely with other senior IOC staff to optimise patient flow though effective staffing, ensuring efficient and coordinated care delivery across all services.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible.

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $126,411 - $132,325 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum

Salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 .

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  • Relevant post graduate qualifications
